André Uddin, Ph.D.

Dr. André Uddin is the founder and President of BioStrategy Management Inc., a premier management consultancy firm serving the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device industries.

Dr. Uddin began his career in the brokerage community, where he was a top ranked analyst specializing in coverage of the Canadian biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. Dr. Uddin has held senior biotechnology and pharmaceutical analyst positions at National Bank Financial, Research Capital and Merrill Lynch Canada. During his analyst career, he researched and evaluated the investment potential and scientific merit of various companies and published in-depth reports. Dr. Uddin has marketed many companies throughout Canada, U.S. and Europe to sophisticated biotech institutional investors. Dr. Uddin has been closely involved in numerous financings including several large US cross-border deals as well as the analysis of several M&A transactions. With over 10 years of global capital market experience, Dr. Uddin is well-known and highly regarded in the brokerage industry as well as among biopharmaceutical companies and institutional investors.  Dr. André Uddin has been involved with over U.S.$1 billion of life science financings.

Prior to founding BioStrategy Management, Dr. Uddin worked as Vice President of Strategic Development at a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company. During his tenure there, Dr. Uddin implemented a unique strategic plan to build shareholder value which ultimately helped the share price appreciate by 179%. Besides evaluating new strategic initiatives and playing a prominent role with the investment community, Dr. Uddin also carefully selected several “best in class” drug targets for the company’s drug discovery group.

Dr. Uddin’s extensive capital market experience is coupled with a strong scientific background. A University of Toronto Faculty Scholar and Dean’s Honour list graduate, Dr. Uddin holds an Honours Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in BioChemistry from the University of Toronto and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biological Chemistry from McGill University. Dr. Uddin’s bio-organic research has been widely published in many scientific journals, including the Journal of American Chemical Society, Biochemistry and Nucleic Acid Research.
